About the Class
In this session, you will create your first HTML and CSS documents. You will need a text editor to create these documents.
To fully participate in this session, you must prepare some text (all about yourself) before the session starts. Please type or copy/paste 20 lines of UNFORMATTED text (less than 20 words per line) into your text editor. Name the file 'yournamefirstpage' and save as type 'html' in a new folder called 'wiziqhtmlcss'. This HTML document will be enhanced during the session. The CSS document will be created during the session.
My example text follows (your text editor will number the lines for you):
1. Hello. My name is Tanja Petrova and I am 35 years old.
2. I live on an island nation in the Caribbean called Trinidad and Tobago.
3. I am the mother of three children.
4. My son is 12 and he will be 13 in two weeks. I am not looking forward to mothering a teenager.
5. My first daughter is 6 and she thinks that she's a mermaid.
6. My last child is a 4 year old girl who loves to eat and dance.
7. I am a stay-at-home mother and a freelance web developer.
8. My favorite hobby, aside from playing on the web, is reading.
9. I read about 5 books per month, across all genres. I do not read romance novels.
10. My favorite dish is paratha roti with curried channa and curried beef. Yummy!
11. I do not watch television or movies, but I do listen to the BBC's World Service radio broadcast on my cell phone.
12. My favorite colours are purple and blue. I do not like red, black or white.
13. I have only one brother. He is 25 years old.
14. When I was younger I wanted to be a translator because I love learning new languages.
15. My native language is English, but I can also speak and understand some French, German and Spanish.
16. I am also trying to learn Japanese and Chinese.
17. I have been a member of Wiziq for less than 1 year. I really enjoy meeting people from all over the world.
18. I have taught classes on WordPress and now I am teaching HTML and CSS.
19. I hope that at the end of these sessions you will be able to write excellent HTML and CSS.
