Adjectives describe nouns by answering one of these three questions:

  • What kind is it?
    • I think stupid people should be banished.
    • Who says poor people are helpless>
  • How many are there?
    • Three friends are coming for dinner tonight.
    • All politicians are hypocrites.
  • Which one is it?
    • Most beautiful girl gets the Ms. World Crown.
    • The students who did not do their homework will be punished today.
An adjective can be a single word, a phrase, or a clause.
