About the Class

We study in this class examples given in the hundreds of Figures found in the paper "The Great Myths of Rheology, Part II", downloadable from the WIZIW Content.
It is shown that local interactions are modulated above Tg by the network of entanglements which we can bring out of equilibrium producing "sustained orientation".

Language of instruction: English

Keywords: polymers, rheology, viscoelasticity, entanglements, instability

Profile Summary

After many years in Corporate Research, in both experimental and theoretical polymer physics, I have recently started an academic career as a Fulbright Scholar, Marie-Curie Awardee and HDR of the University of UPPA (Pau, France). My intense review work of the field for the last 5 years has led me to write a book and conduct a series of courses and lectures on a new way to consider polymer physics. I hope that my contribution to the understanding of entanglements will benefit processing of polymers in many novel ways. Finally, my long time desire to teach on line what I have learned, from my own experience, is made possible by the recent advances in web communication technology.
