This presentation will cover:
- Some of the traditional ethical systems used in contemporary Business Ethics as it is commonly taught in the United States
- Historically recognized problems with traditional ethical systems
- Contemporary problems faced by both individuals and businesses as they seek new directions in ethics
- How Dinesh D'Souza describes some contemporary spiritual/moral dilemmas in his book The Virtue of Prosperity
- Some techniques for addressing both traditional and contemporary problems
All of this is with an eye toward developing a Global Business Ethics suitable to today's complex world. The instructor has a Ph.D. in philosophy and has taught undergraduate Business Ethics several times. His approach is academic, but information and ideas presented are intended for the general public. Topics include some references to Kant, Utilitarianism, Aristotle, Locke, and contemporary writers. Those who plan on attending are encouraged to participate in the Global Ethics Survey at Global Ethics Quiz prior to attending the session.

About the presenter:

Anthony has worked as a mechanical engineering designer, a technical writer, and a software salesman before earning his Ph.D. in Philosophy from CUNY in 1999. A few years later, he was able to earn a MCSE (Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer) certificate. His interests center around technology and philosophy.He has taught Introduction to Philosophy in traditional settings at Winona State University and American University in Bulgaria. He also has experience in teaching career-oriented adults in high-intensity training programs for Microsoft products. Since completing several graduate courses in on-line education, Anthony has become more interested in technologies and philosophies that will develop global citizenship. He has taught undergraduate philosophy courses online at Saint Leo University, Capella University, Salem Interantional University, and The Arts Institute.
