Profile Summary

I’m from Orlando Florida, I’m married with two dogs and three cats and a few classroom pets. My Husband teaches high school biology at my school as well. I graduated from UCF in the Pre-Law program, and interned for a Law firm in D.C. through the Washington Center. This is my 6th year teaching 8th grade American History at my School McKeel Academy of Technology in Lakeland Florida. I previously taught high school and middle school in schools in Osceola County. My school is a charter K-12 program made up of three “schools” with one of them currently expanding into a duplicate program. I’m located at the big McKeel 6-12. We have two elementary McKeel’s located nearby in town. I’m also currently in my fourth year of a Federal Turning Points in American History Grant program. I will finish my Master’s degree in Instructional Media for 21st century teaching this summer from Wilkes University and Discovery Education. I won 30 netbooks that I am using in my classroom this year from my school’s own in-house grant. I have 150 students and teach in 50 minute periods. My students use Moodle to turn in assignments, Quia for games, Glogster, and other web 2.0 applications and programs in the classroom. I use WizIQ to web conference with my students for study sessions.
