Designing Online and Blended Courses to Customize Learning: A Blueprint by Dr. Danielle Herro

About the Presenter:
Dr. Danielle Herro is a Instructional Technology Leader in the Oconomowoc Area Schools. She recently completed her PhD from the University of Wisconsin, Madison, in the Educational Communications and Technology Program. Her work includes researching Web 2.0, social media, and emerging technologies to assist educators in designing sustainable content-driven, technology-enhanced environments. This year her focus in the Oconomowoc Area Schools has been positioning the district to offer online and blended courses for high school students beginning in September, 2011.

About the Presentation:
This presentation chronicles the research and design a mid-sized school district used to build a sustainable model for online learning. Committed to changing the structure of the traditional school day, the district is moving staff and students towards online environments with tools offering individualized instruction, flexible pacing, and anytime, anywhere learning. After a brief review of research and statistics pointing towards the value of online learning, the session will review planning, policy issues, teacher training, cost, course design, and community buy-in as we share our current blueprint and vision for the future.

I love the integration between MS Office, Acrobat X, and Adobe Presenter. It seems that Adobe presenter is a self-contained e-learning option.
