About the Class

How to write your thesis in record time and keep your sanity while you do it.

Writing a thesis? If you struggle with time, focus or procrastination, I will show you how to be most effective every time you sit down to write. This is a ONE TIME ONLY free session, since I'm testing the content and the WiZiQ interface. It will be expanded into a 6-part course later this month.

Feel free to check out my website at http://3monththesis.com or this lecture I gave at the University of Nottingham last year http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5yUQ4H5d8fo

The more feedback I get, the better I can make the classes I give. Feel free to contact me through WiZiQ with any questions or suggestions. If you like the class, tell your friends- if not, tell me!

Language of instruction: English

Keywords: writing, project time management, essay writing, thesis, phd, doctorate, masters, dissertation

A more detailed course will definitely be necessary. Good job, James.

It was a nice overview of the process of writing the thesis. James didn't get bogged down in the technical nitty gritty of thesis writing. Most PhD students may know that info but the concept of keeping on top of the whole thing efficiently is where most of us fall down. However, James did provide links to sites with more technical info for those interested to pursue specific revenues. I liked the presentation style (vid, slides, audio). I particularly liked the teaching method. James was open to questions, reviewing comments at the end (I liked that). As a presenter it may feel odd to sit in silence for 20seconds waiting for questions as you have a drink, but I think that reinforced the open teaching style. For those who pay for the full course, they are likely to begin with specific questions any way so James may be bombarded with questions. I shall remember and quote Parkinson's Law. Thanks James

hi James, thanks for that useful session - i missed it, but am able to view the recording. i think what most phd writers fear is the writing, especially second language users. is it possible to have another session solely focusing on writing - how to gets ideas, how to get the writing going, etc? i appreciate what you are doing, and i'm glad i found your resources, when i'm now writing up!
will certainly follow you, and spread the words to my other phd colleagues in Malaysia, mostly. Cheers, anita adnan, university of nottingham,UK
