About the Class

The purpose of IT4ALL Talks is to discuss and demonstrate techniques that facilitate active life-long learning skills. IT4ALL Talks will be moderated by Dr. Ludmila Smirnova and Dr. Nellie Deutsch who will invite guest speakers. The presenters will discuss the integration of technology in all walks of life.

The speaker for this week at IT4ALL Talks is Gene-Loeb Aronin, Ph.D. a consultant and researcher at the Center for Technology and Mental Health of Older Persons who will present on the Effects of Technology & Social Learning on Communities. Dr. Aronin is also a reviewer of Informing Sciences Journal, Open Source Consortium, Merlot, and Journal of Community Informatics and editor of Journal of Community Informatics, Center for Technology and Mental Health.

I just watched the recording although I was in the presentation. What an excellent oppportunity I received to listen to experts talk about the direction of technology and online communities. The leading team at IT4ALL are: Dr. Ludmila Smirnova (professor at St. Mary's College in New York State, writer, experienced presenter and online facilitator), Dr. Nellie Deutsch (a Canadian instructional designer and curriculum development leader, who has been teaching English and integrating technology into her classes, and presenting, researching, writing, and providing consultation on Moodle for teachers. WebQuests, blended learning, and e-portfolios), Dariem Garcés (Moodle Developer, creator of the WebQuest plugin for Moodle, and expert in installing virtual learning environments), and other educators & technology experts volunteer their time and make up Integrating Technology for Active Lifelong Learning (IT4ALL).
