Class competitions, some Live Singing, Guessing Games/Quizzes, and Insider Information on Japan...*Very Interesting*.

*The Goals*
•Learn the basics of hiragana & katakana, covering a little at a time.
•Accomplish the above by meeting 2-3 weeks a month, 3 days a week, for 3-4 months.

*The Focus*
Gain *Golden* Reading, Writing, Listening & Speaking skills using the techniques of the samurai warriors. That means we'll...
1. Learn a little.
2. Review A LOT in various ways.
3. Repeat steps 1 and 2.

*Prerequisites*
•A respectful & considerate attitude toward ALL.
•Support attendees & host, i.e. Be Helpful & Positive.
•Be willing to substitute the words 'no' and 'not' for other words.
Ex. I can't speak because you didn't give me -> Mic rights, please.

Continuing what we started in class: the [____ desu.] form
j: ado desu. = it's an ad.
z: ao desu = it's blue.
j: ai/aijyou desu. = it's love.
z: ♥
z: aku desu = it's evil. >:-I
(NEW) j: aki *desu = it is fall/autumn.
*remember: usually, only the 'des' of 'desu' is pronounced, even tho in japanese it's written 'desu', w/ the 'u'.

[Things That Make You Go, "Hmm...".: i write "it's love". next sentence, "it's evil". hmm...]

I am known as "J.", "Jamila", and Jamie. By whichever name you know me, the story is still the same. And, the story is...

I lived, studied & worked in Japan for two (2) years through the Japan Exchange and Teaching Program (JET Programme). Living in Japan working in 3 Japanese public high schools as an Assistant Language Teacher (ALT), I gained experience in interactive, student-focused teaching and learning. In other words, I learned how to make learning active & fun by creating lesson plans that enabled & encouraged speaking, as well as the strengthening of listening skills.

The teaching and cultural skills I gained in Japan is what I bring to Japanese language classes. And, although I'm new to this website and it's platform, I strive to do what I've been doing elsewhere, which is make learning Easy, Entertaining, and Effective.
