About the Class

Karaoke ESL

Everday at 7 AM New York time this class will be available for students using the Karaoke ESL method for spoken English. You should have the worksheet (printed out) and the MP3 song  from the main blog http://www.myeslfriends.com/  (choose the Karaoke Tab along the top for available songs)

If you need assistance please contact George at www.wiziq.com/George  or skype me at GMACHLAN (skype name)

Be sure you have a printed (paper) copy of the worksheet (in your native language) for class. If their is no worksheet for your song, please contact George at above.

You will also be expected to have a headset for these classes. You are expected to speak in this class.  No singing during class will be needed.  The purpose of this class is to identify the problem sounds which you should be careful of during your practice with the spoken rehearsal of the lyrics and Q&A's.  You will be speaking it many times to memorize the words and mimic the accent.  If you practice without care and direction (of problem sounds) this method will do more harm than good.

Please do the system check and the microphone test here:

I like the ESL Karoke. I use some of the some of the strategies in my bookstudy, they seem to work especially the fill in the blank, reflection and the direct questions.

Profile Summary

We do not need "them", we only need each other.

This group of pilgrims called "The Edupunk" are seeking a new paradigm for online learning. We hold to several core principals:
1. All can teach, all should teach
2. Mistakes and willing to risk mistakes are much prefered over the false goal of perfection.
3. Fun activities and gaming are not only more engaging, they are the key to a sustainable model for learning... anything.
4. Live interaction and group activities create the basis for deep and experiential learning.
5. Accountability and competition is the basis of our community. We build and only associate with leaders who can recognize that they and every member have knowledge to share.
