About the Class:
This session would discuss Modals and Modal-like Verbs. Modals are special verbs which behave very irregularly in English. In this session you will study the modal explanations and complete the associated exercises and take another step toward English fluency. Some of the verbs we will study in detail in this session are :

This session is part of the online weekly practice space for those willing to learn, refresh or improve their skills in English as a second language. This weekly session is in continuation of the 03 previous sessions:.
About the presenter: Mario Gonzalez-Hernandez
Mario is the CEO and Senior Language Instructor at Smart Teaching Online. He has conducted a number of basic and advanced level courses in Spanish. He has worked with Harmon Hall, Berlitz and Universidad Tecnológica de México. He has also been involved in legal translation as well. He is a Certified Attorney at Law (Mexico) and is one of the most active Languages Teacher on WiZiQ.

Actually, 'have got to' is not bad grammar at all. It may be seen this way to some, but is perfectly idiomatic. This form of emphasis is used more in British English than N. American. 'Need to' is not, strictly speaking, the same as 'have got to'. Incidentally, this kind of criticism is 19th century thinking. English is democratic and dynamic, and the rules of grammar may change at anytime to reflect a more sensible approach to communication..which is what language is all about, n'est ce pas?
