About the Class: |
Emphasis of the lecture will be to concentrate more on the basic concepts of rotational motion. The various aspects with which it will deal are :
- Why rotational motion?
- Importance of concept of centre of mass – a brief discussion of centre of mass with some examples.
- Rigid body – its description.
- General motion of rigid body.
- Tools for describing rotational motion : Torque, angular momentum, moment of inertia.
- Law of conservation of angular momentum with examples
- Numerical examples.

About the presenter:
Kajal Sengupta

Kajal Sengupta is M. Sc with specialization in Quantum Electronics which deals with the study of lasers. She was a CSIR JRF for three years and the area of research was Solid State Physics. She has taught in various institutions right from class IX-XII and also briefly at the college level. Kajal has been an evaluator of Physics (theory) paper of class XII (CBSE Board) and has attended various seminars and workshops such as Making model rockets conducted by Rocketry Society, Modern teaching methods by All India Parents Teachers Association, Child psychology conducted by eminent psychologists and Question setting and evaluation of class XII Physics paper by ICSE Board.
