About the Class
Analytical Writing Section tests an aspirants ability not only to present the ideas in writing but also measures the ability to think critically and to communicate the ideas effectively. The tasks assigned might seem daunting but proper guidance and understanding can help get a good score. The basic rationale behind the section is that a good manager should be a good communicator as well.
Since communication is an ongoing process, it becomes pertinent for each one of us to master it. Keeping this in mind a series of sessions have been designed on how to tackle GMAT and GRE Analytical Writing Assessment effectively. Though the sessions are targeted at AWA but anyone desirous of honing of writing and communication skills can attend the sessions.
Session 2 : What is Analytical Writing?
The session aims at explaining what exactly is Analytical Writing? Since the GMAT specifically tests this form of writing, it becomes pertinent to understand this genre of writing. We might be good at debating a point. But when we have to pen down our points we run short of ideas or words; we forget to use the correct language or expressions. Organizing and supporting our point of view is equally important. By taking a mere stand we shall not be able to convince the readers.
The session targets these aspects of analytical writing:- Meaning and explanation
- Organization of ideas
- Presentation of supporting ideas and examples
- Expressions to use and not to be used in Analytical Writing
The series started with a session on Effective Writing Skills Session
