Analytical Writing Section tests an aspirant’s ability not only to present the ideas in writing but also measures the ability to think critically and to communicate the ideas effectively. The tasks assigned might seem daunting but proper guidance and understanding can help get a good score. The basic rationale behind the section is that a good manager should be a good communicator as well.
Since communication is an ongoing process, it becomes pertinent for each one of us to master it. Keeping this in mind a series of sessions have been designed on how to tackle GMAT and GRE Analytical Writing Assessment effectively. Though the sessions are targeted at AWA but anyone desirous of honing of writing and communication skills can attend the sessions.
Session 1 : Effective Writing Skills
The session will give a brief basic knowledge about enhancing the writing skills. It is important to know the simple flaws in any piece of writing. Understanding the basic principles of a good piece of writing will not only help in tackling AWA but also help in writing effectively in future. The presenter will give tips to enhance the writing skills along with examples. The session will cover the given topics:- Coherence
- Conciseness
- Sentence Variety
- Transitions
The presenter will give tips on enhancing these basic principles. At the same time examples will be cited to show the common errors that we make.

Supreet Seher has done masters and M Phil in English. She has been teaching students in various age groups and diverse backgrounds for 16 years. Her stints at various places and positions has given her an insight into the teaching arena. Besides being a teacher she has also been Principal for two years. Though she is keenly interested in developing academic and educational content her forte is creative writing. Her innovative and interactive teaching techniques coupled with her adaptability makes her lessons interesting.
