Japanese pronounce every syllable and the words are ended in a vowel. That is very different from English sounds system. Therefore to know this kind of English sounds rule and practice it is very important for Japanese English learners, and of course, it is important for every English learner in the world! Thank you for the good lesson.

Hi Matt - I watched the recording. Very interesting! I love the idea of making up the sentence from the phonic chart - very tricky but I thought the students did an excellent job! I once taught the word "hoovering" ('who-vring) only to be told by an au pair that I was wrong cos her lady said "he-'you-vering!" - now THAT's posh! Thanks, Anne
