About the Class

English language: Building relationship between grammar analysis and writing skills development. Meeting #1:
“Grammar is the structural foundation of our ability to express ourselves” Following this line of thought expressed by David Crystal in 2004 (which is quoted to summarize the close connection between grammar and the development of communicative competence), we are going to interlink reading, understanding how English language operates and individual and collective writing.
Since the study of grammar all by itself does not automatically develop "superior" writers, we are going to connect grammar points with larger communication contexts for a clearer understanding of how the language in question works in the process of experiencing the language itself.

Language of instruction: English

Keywords: reading comprehension, integrated writing, english grammar

In the first meeting we will read a short article, work on vocabulary, general reading comprehension activities and NOUN TYPES, if time allows us :-)
A suggestion: have a dictionary with you (printed or online)since you'll need it to look up selected words for meaning and part of speech they belong to.
Thank you!
