Web Development - HTML 5 Basics Public Class

About the Class

This class is a live workshop. We will be working on a live web page that we build from scratch using the new HTML5 standard. This class is useful for beginners as well as for experienced web designers who want to learn more about the new HTML standard.

Syllabus:

- building a basic page using header, content and footer
- separating structure from design with CSS
- building a basic stylesheet for the page

Prerequisites:

You need a simple text editor and a browser to follow the basic steps. You will get most value out of the class if you have a public web space to show off your results to other students. To get a free webspace you can use one of these free webhosting companies:

Just get a simple subdomain to be able to upload your html-files. If you need special software for uploading (FTP-client) check out FileZilla that you can get for free on this site:
