About the Class

This class will serve as a review of circular motion and rotational kinematics. It is useful to model any object that is rolling, spinning, or rotating as an extended object rather than a point mass. We will predict and analyze objects undergoing circular motion using Newton's Second Law for Rotation and the Law of Conservation of Angular Momentum. The class will view YouTube videos of Olympic competitors to look for these concepts in action!

Language of instruction: English

Keywords: rotational motion, kinematics, physics, circular motion

Profile Summary

I enjoy helping students "get" physics. The satisfaction when students finally understand a difficult concept is a great reward for perseverance.

I received a Master of Arts in Teaching from Thomas More College in May 2010, and a Bachelor of Arts in Physics from Northern Kentucky University in August 2007.

My future goals include continuing my graduate education, emphasizing physics education research.
