About the Class

Lean Thinking is a drastic new way to model and think about organizational work flow. Lean Engineering originated from Toyota Production System and other quality movements in Japan. It was adapted by many leading management guru''s to services industry in 1980''s. Agile Software Development, a growing trend in software community also owe its origins to Lean Principles especially Toyota New Product Development System. In this session, Vik would introduce the basic principles and ideas of Lean Engineering. He would take the participants through the following topics:

Push up scheduling is when you push people or resources to a given sub-system. A pull system is a sub-system called people or resources when they need the same. An example of the same is Toyoda''s handloom which called the personnel when the thread was broken rather than personnel standing for thread to break all the time.
