About the Class: |
This presentation aims at introducing participants to the personal story of a passionate teacher-learner aspiring to improve her practice and inspire her students, and how she has found a golden opportunity to pursue free professional development in online learning communities and networks.
The presenter will briefly take the audience through her learning journey, introducing participants to the relevant communities, networks and groups she belongs to and through which meaningful learning and collaboration opportunities emerge. It is also core to this session to provide personal account of the communal interactions, and reflect on how the individuals' active participation in these informal shared spaces can impact on one's Personal Learning Environment (PLE) and further professional development.
This session will be moderated by Nellie Deutsch. Nellie is a Canadian high school English teacher (EFL/ESL) and a doctoral student of educational leadership specializing in curriculum and instruction at the University of Phoenix online.
