Welcome to CO10 the annual live online conference. The conference will be of interest to educators, administrators, students, and community members who value the importance of integrating technology into the curriculum to improve instruction and learning. Online learning involves various skills on the part of the instructor and learner. These include social and communication skills, social networking, independent learning strategies, critical and higher order thinking skills, creativity, and effective online and face-to-face facilitation.

About the Presenter:
Maria Droujkova


Maria DroujkovaMaria Droujkova has more than fifteen years of experience developing programs and courses for helping people learn mathematics and engaging in original, thought-provoking studies. Maria researches and develops face-to-face and online learning environments. She has designed and theorized about learning experiences for diverse learners and situations: early algebra games for pre-K groups of children; Math Clubs and the Family Online Studies for family-centered communities; classes and seminars for k-20 and graduate students; and seminars,workshops and classes for pre-service and in-service teachers. She is the founder of multiple online educational communities, including Natural Math network and Math 2.0 interest group, and an active member of many online educator networks. Maria has MS in Applied Mathematics from Tulane University and PhD in Mathematics Education from NCSU. Her studies have been supported by grants, and published and presented nationally and internationally.

The Theory of Change framework supporting Natural Math and Math 2.0 projects views math education in a cultural context essential for the 21st century Age of Globalization. Learning is defined as taking on roles in communities and networks, and includes many events at individual, family, local community and group, and global network levels. A framework encompassing these events can help bring about mathematics education changes, and, in particular, to orient individual web 2.0 educational projects to wider vision and goals.
