About the Class

This Saturday we will devote part of the meeting time to introduce Sid from WIZIQ.

This year I expect to follow a slightly different format for these weekly discussions. We will continue to discuss general items about our experiences with the WIZIQ platform but I would like to devote more time to focusing on our community.

Therefore, every week I would like to get a teacher, an entrepreneur, a student and one of the WIZIQ team to come and share about themselves and their dreams.

A few of these discussions will become rather intense but I expect most to be just "meet and greet" types of discourse. If you have an "axe to grind" (getting even for some issues) we will probably not allow you to actively participate. If you would like to listen and encourage then you will fit right in.

Our intention is to develop human connections, not solve all the problems of our WIZIQ community.

Please remember that, when we have a WIZIQ team member featured, they are not coming as an official voice of WIZIQ. (Except if we get Harman, then "no holds barred" wrestling smackdown rules prevail.) They have agreed to be interviewed as a fellow human being who wish to share a little about themselves. Try to keep your questions within the confines of our format...old friends meeting new friends.

We don't need to learn what type of underwear Sid likes, nor his worst experience at WIZIQ. We do want to know some more about his person, his joys and what makes him tick.

Anyway, here is Sid's bio page: http://www.wiziq.com/sid

Profile Summary

We do not need "them", we only need each other.

This group of pilgrims called "The Edupunk" are seeking a new paradigm for online learning. We hold to several core principals:
1. All can teach, all should teach
2. Mistakes and willing to risk mistakes are much prefered over the false goal of perfection.
3. Fun activities and gaming are not only more engaging, they are the key to a sustainable model for learning... anything.
4. Live interaction and group activities create the basis for deep and experiential learning.
5. Accountability and competition is the basis of our community. We build and only associate with leaders who can recognize that they and every member have knowledge to share.
