About the Class

In most software development organizations, the testing program functions as a final quality gate for an application, allowing or preventing the move from the comfort of the software engineering environment into the real world. With this comes a large responsibility. The success of an application and possibly of the organization can rest on the quality of the software product.

Software Testing is primarily the process of executing a program or system with the intent of finding errors, defects or bugs. Effective software testing provides experience based practices and key concepts that can be used by an organization to implement a successful and efficient testing program. This session would focus on the following topics:

  • The importance of software testing
  • Quality in software
  • Reasons for Software Bugs
  • Basic types of Testing
  • CMMi Levels - an SQA Method
  • A distinction between developer and tester and Product and Project.
This session would be a good introduction to many such sessions planned in the future.

Language of instruction:

Keywords: software testing, quality, quality assurance
