About the Class

This is a basic course on 'Web Filtering concepts'. This course should enable you to use SafeSquid - Content Filtering Internet Proxy, to achieve some basic goals like:

• • How to restrict access to websites, based on their URL
• • How to create and use categorized lists of websites with SafeSquid
• • How to to detect unacceptable content, by using PCRE based logical analysis, of web-site content
• How to restrict access to content based on their data type, like images, or streaming content, audio / video, etc.
• • How to limit users access to private applications like web-based emails on web-sites, without blocking the entire web-site
• • How to enforce "SafeSearch" to ensure inappropriate content is not served on search engine queries
• • How to create user based profiles and limit the overall access based on such profiles.
