Profile Summary
I am Stanley Garland your course facilitator. I am originally from Orlando, Florida but I live in South Georgia. Most of the classes that I teach are conducted bilingually in Spanish and English which can make life interesting.
In the beginning of my teaching career, I was a paraprofessional for 5 years with the Federal Department of Migrant Education. Then, I was a high school Spanish teacher for 10 years and most recently I have been an English for Speakers of Other Languages teacher for 3 years.
I hold a B.A. in Spanish and a B.S.Ed. in Secondary Education from Valdosta State University in Valdosta, Georgia, an M.A.Ed. in Curriculum and Educational Technology from University of Phoenix, an Education Specialist degree in Educational Leadership from Albany State University in Albany, Georgia, and I am “All But Dissertation” in a Doctor of Educational Leadership Program at Valdosta State University. I am certified in the state of Georgia in School Administration and Supervision and in 2006 I was named a Georgia Master Teacher by our Governor Sonny Perdue.
