About the Class

This session demonstrates WiZiQ, a free virtual classroom platform that needs no downloads for the teachers or the students. On WiZiQ teachers can sign-up for free, set up sessions with one student or a group and deliver an online class with audio and video capabilities. Further, WiZiQ offers an asynchronous content sharing feature where teachers can share their PowerPoint presentations in a YouTube-like format privately or publicly.

WiZiQ offers the following features:

  • Works in Flash format and needs no downloads
  • 2-way live audio/video delivery
  • Whiteboard with Math tools
  • Synchronous Content sharing such as PowerPoint (retains animations and transitions), PDF, Flash files and videos
  • Records all sessions to be played back in Flash format (needs no downloads)
  • Share PowerPoint presentations asynchronously even with narrated audio in slides.

    Hello Mark, I am sorry I missed your session. I wanted to participate in it so badly. The part I observed was exciting! The participants were exploring the whiteboard. Some of them were going wild! Did you try to upload a video? I was not successful in that. (Today was the first day of our first Chinese group on campus and I was busy creating their class Moodle site, uploading pictures, etc. and tutoring them about Moodle.
