Inside Out English: A Conversation Class (Three Bears) Public Class

About the Class

Inside Out English is a conversation class where English language students can explore the English language from the inside out—from the theme or heart of a story out to the stylistic elements such as vocabulary and grammar. Through a lively and interactive discussion of a major English-language fairy tale, students will deepen their understanding of the English style of writing, speaking and storytelling. Each class focuses on a single story which is broken down into sections and discussed. Topics such as plot, setting, characters, theme, and the story’s influence on North American culture and the English language will be discussed in a structured format. The story for this class will be "The Three Bears" as it was told by Robert Southey in 1837.

Prerequisites: Participants should speak English at an intermediate level or higher.

Target audience: Any intermediate English learner who wishes to improve their communication skills and expand their literary repertoire.
