About the Class

Look around you. Pick an object in front of you, say your computer mouse. Do you have the words to describe its shape, colour and texture, how it moves, and what it sounds like? Could you describe it so vividly that we wouldn’t need a photograph to know exactly what it looks like?
Join author and storyteller Laura Thomas for a fun and interactive writing workshop that will exercise your “literary” muscles, build your description vocabulary and increase your power as a storyteller.
During the workshop we will brush up on figurative devices, practice writing with all five senses and talk about how tone (emotion) fits with description.
This workshop is suitable for creative writers, students, marketing writers, technical writers, web writers, and anyone else who is interested in using words-on-a-page to connect with an audience.
This course is drawn from Laura’s popular creative writing classes for beginners but goes deeper as we explore this one element of writing—description.

respected teacher, i m a very good painter and can draw very well. my handwriting is also quite well. i can draw any real pictures quite well. My friends ask me to become an artist. presently i am preparing for iitjee. i have passed class x11. But i do fear in joining in art institutions. i also got scholarship in eduheal art competition. as this sector demands too much money, i m fearing to join it. my art is purely god gifted. can u help me in becoming a successful artist.......actually dont have much information about this sector
