About the Class

Women undergo through intense physiological changes throughout pregnancy. They are eager to learn about their changing bodies and understand how to have a healthy pregnancy. With the rise in gestational diabetes and high weight gain, health care providers and strongly encouraging a well-rounded diet and exercise program. By taking this course, participants will understand current information regarding pre and postnatal guidelines as it applies to the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) and American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG). They will learn safe exercise techniques that will help in keeping one fit during pregnancy and tips to help get back to pre pregnancy weight safely. Participants will also learn physiological issues that can inhibit exercise and address these issues specific to the pregnant woman’s needs and concerns.
