After recording transaction in journal with the help of their different type, posting of this transaction in number of groups.This grouping of transaction is called as "ledger". With the help of this group i.e. ledgers, we come to know what is particular position of a group or ledger and its balance. From this grouping, we come to conclusion about what is expected to pay or receive in particular period. Based on this data, we can continue our next step toward accounting. In simple words,ledger is nothing but "a group of accounts".
