All accounting started with journal entries. All journal entries described the business in a whole. So journal entries starts as business starts and going on with business. This comes in basic journal entries category and step by step entries are converted in cash and bank type, combined entries type, discount entries type and so on and so forth. Business starts with cash or bank, all purchase & sales transactions come under basic entries type. All contra entries type i.e. cash deposited or withdrawal comes under cash & bank type, transaction that take place in one particular day or transaction where one particular account is debited or credited are comes under combined type of journal entries. So this is short description about journal entries type.
