Supernormal (Random House, July 2013), discusses -- from a scientific perspective -- ancient legends about supernormal powers developed through the practice of yoga.

Dr. Dean Radin , Chief Scientist, Institute of Noetic Sciences who appeared on the movie What the Bleep do we Know: Down the Rabbit Hole (2006) will discuss his new book Supernormal (Random House, July 2013) from a scientific perspective -- ancient legends about supernormal powers developed through the practice of yoga. To do this, he will discuss what yoga is really about (it isn’t what we see in most health clubs around the world). Then he will describe what the traditional superpowers are and consider if they are merely superstitions or something more. Dr. Radin will focus on scientific experiments investigating these abilities, and he will conclude that some of the legendary powers are in fact true. This has immense implications for our understanding of human potential, for science, and for society. The foreword of the book is written by Deepak Chopra.

Dean Radin, PhD, has been studying advanced capacities of human consciousness for over 30 years. He is presently Chief Scientist at the Institute of Noetic Sciences and Adjunct Faculty in the Department of Psychology at Sonoma State University. He previously worked at Princeton University, University of Edinburgh (in Scotland), AT&T Bell Labs, and SRI International, where he participated in a program investigating psychic phenomena for the US government (Stargate). He is author or coauthor of over 200 technical and popular articles, two dozen book chapters, and three books including the award- winning The Conscious Universe (HarperOne, 1997), Entangled Minds (Simon & Schuster, 2006), and now, Supernormal (Random House, 2013).
