Profile Summary

I've been a professional musician for about 35 years. Through the years I've worked with a variety of bands on the international festival circuit. I've also done a lot of studio work and arrange music for bands. Nect to the Traditional Irish style of playing, other musical influences have enriched my style of fiddle playing, such as folk-rock, jazz, blues, country and Americana. I've studied at music college (guitar) but I am a self-taught fiddle player who learned to play the fiddle by ear. The way I teach leaves room to learn to play with as much / little theory as is needed or wanted, plus the choice of using sheet music or learning tunes by ear, according to your own preferences and abilities. It's about experiencing and living the music and about the enjoyment of playing - from the very beginning.
