TESOL with Web Technologies course is based on authentic, social, and collaborative learning. The course is facilitated with ongoing support by Dr. Nellie Deutsch, an experienced face-to-face, blended, and fully online English language teacher. The course is self-paced where participants can work at their own pace.
Dr. Nellie Deutsch (Ed.D) is internationally known as a relationship-based mentor, researcher, writer, speaker, community builder, expert in teaching with technology, Moodle, and WizIQ live classes. She teaches subjects related to mindfulness practice, online personal and professional development, and action research to educators worldwide. She’s been teaching English as a foreign language in high school and higher education for over 35 years. She’s an instructor at Atlantic University Masters of Arts in Transpersonal and leadership studies, speaks at online and face-to-face conferences, and organizes informal MOOCs and free online courses and webinars on WizIQ education online and Moodle for Teachers.
Dr. Deutsch follows a relationship-based collaborative active learning approach to instruction and learning and teaching as a way to learn. Her experiential humanitarian approach to instruction and learning has earned her the respect of educators around the globe and attracted her to healthy living and healing. She's an accredited PAIRS (Practical Application of Intimate Relationship Skills), conflict resolution, and Reiki practitioner. She practices and teaches Mindfulness Meditation and the Alexander Technique.
Nellie provides consultation on teaching with technology, mobile devices in the classroom, Moodle (course and learning management system), Google Drive, and WizIQ. She is the founder and owner of Integrating Technology for Active Lifelong Learning (IT4ALL) community of educators, Moodle for Teachers (M4T) network, Connecting Online and MoodleMoot annual virtual conferences, and Moodle MOOCs on WizIQ (bi- annual). She is currently on the steering committee of TESOL CALL-IS, community manager on the TESOL Secondary School Interest Section, program coordinator at WAOE (World Association of Online Education), on the program committee and executive committee of EdMedia at AACE (Advancement of Computing in Education), on IATEFL YLT SIG committee, and on the coordinating team of Electronic Village Online (EVO) TESOL.
