About the Class

“Economics is a science”, said Prof L. Robbins. London School of Economics treats it as such and awards B. Sc (Economics) and M. Sc. (Economics) for graduate and post-graduate levels of specialization in Economics. Unfortunately, most of the centers of learning elsewhere don’t subscribe to this philosophy and continue to deal with this discipline like any other discipline of humanities. Unlike mathematics and other physical sciences, economics is not introduced to youngsters at junior levels. One of the reasons educationists often cite for this is that the discipline is too tough to be introduced even at the middle level of schooling. This like many other misconceptions about economics owes its origin to the way it is taught at its introduction stage. Economics is a logical discipline like mathematics and other physical sciences. It deserves same treatment as these. I intend to initiate a series of public lectures on economics as a science so that the most coveted discipline at the university level may be introduced in its truest form.
