World war 1,also know as the Great War, involved more countries and killed more people than any other war that had ever been fought before. But how did it start?

By 1914 the five strongest countries in Europe had split into rival groups. Britain France and Russia (called Allies) were on one side, with Germany and Austria- Hungary (called the Central powers). The situation became very tense. In this class we will study:

  • what are the causes of World war?
  • Results of war.
  • How the war spread?
  • Some important dates.
