I am a Malawian national, male, aged 45 and married. I have a Master of Science in Statistics obtained from the University of Waikato in Hamilton, New Zealand in 1996 and a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture with a distinction obtained from University of Malawi in 1991.
I have over 19 years professional experience gained after working in Malawi, Namibia, Botswana and Zimbabwe ranging from University Lecturer, Researcher, Consultant Monitoring and Evaluation and R & D. I am now working as a Managing Partner at Paragon Consult Bureau but I was until May 2009 working as a Productivity Statistics Research Consultant in the Information and Research Services Department at the Botswana National Productivity Centre (BNPC) in Gaborone Botswana. At BNPC among other things I was responsible for production of economic productivity Statistics for Botswana, M & E, R & D, Executive Opinion Surveys on behalf of the World Economic Forum (WEF) of Geneva, Switzerland, Employee & Customer satisfaction surveys, maintenance of statistical data bases, and provision of reliable and accurate research-based data/information with the intention of guiding objective policy decision making for the government of Botswana and other stakeholders.
I previously worked as a Lecturer in Statistics at the University of Namibia and as a Part-time Lecturer in Business Statistics at the Polytechnic of Namibia, in Windhoek, Namibia (2002-2007) and the University of Malawi in Lilongwe, Malawi (1993-2002). I was also a Visiting Scientist at CYMIT-Zimbabwe, in Harare for 6 months in 2002 working on project looking at similarity of maize growing environments in the SADC Region. Before joining University of Malawi in 1993.`
