About Ismail Kamdar

Born in Durban, South Africa on 1 September 1986, Abu Muawiyah began his study of Islam at the age of thirteen. In 2006, he completed a seven year Islamic scholarship at a local Darul Uloom. In his quest for the truth and authentic Islamic knowledge, Abu Muawiyah continued studying Islam and sat with scholars from a variety of Madhabs and sects. His most notable teacher is Dr Abu Ameenah Bilal Philips.

Abu Muawiyah served as an Arabic and Islamic Studies Educator at Ihsaan Boys College is Durban, South Africa in 2008, and as an English and Social Studies Educator at the Al-Fajr International School in Chennai, India for part of 2009. Abu Muawiyah currently resides in Durban, South Africa with his wife and three sons and serves as a teacher for Deenclass Durban and as a Tutorial Assistant for the Islamic Online University(www.islamiconlineuniversity.com)

Very good teacher, Masha'Allah Keeps control of the class, doesn't answer what he doesn't know and gives additional sources such as other articles and lectures along with the class information.

I really love his classes, very concise and organized, o the point and full of vital information. Sometimes English Grammar teacher Sister Rasheedah uses his account, check the class to see whether it is Aqeedah (brother Ismail) or English (Sister Rasheedah). Her classes are good too, Alhamdulillah.
