Hi, MyLearningSpace,

We suggest you to follow these steps:

• Login to your Moodle profile.

• Make the changes as suggested in this tutorial: http://www.wiziq.com/tutorial/41093-Moodle-settings

Please make sure that you have selected the time zone in terms of GMT or UTC and not the country name in your Moodle profile.

Please try the above steps and let us know if the issue still persists or if you have further queries.

Thanks,
Preeti

Hi,
I did the required changes in the administator's profile and moodle's location settings and also changed the tmzone to timezone in session.php
but I am getting the following error.

Warning: strtotime() [function.strtotime]: It is not safe to rely on the system's timezone settings. You are *required* to use the date.timezone setting or the date_default_timezone_set() function. In case you used any of those methods and you are still getting this warning, you most likely misspelled the timezone identifier. We selected 'Asia/Karachi' for '5.0/no DST' instead in E:\Moodle1.9\xampplite\htdocs\moodle\mod\wiziq\session.php on line 10

Please help!

Hi Ashu,

You are getting this error because you changed tmzone to timezone in session.php
Please change the value back to tmzone in session.php file as this is the code value which is defined by us and you should not modify it.

Also make sure that you have selected the time zone in terms of GMT or UTC and not the country name in your Moodle profile (under location settings and administrator’s profile). Once you save these changes, try scheduling a class and let us know if the issue still persists.

Thanks,
Preeti

Hi there,

I don't have any trouble setting up the time zone, it's just wrong.

Melbourne Australia is GMT +10, instead it is showing GMT + 11. This is causing quite a bit of confusion for my teachers, because in order to have the class occur at the right time, we have to schedule one hour later than we want. I suspect it has something to do with Melbourne having summer saving time... best...janet

Hi Janet,

We checked and found that our timezone settings are set correctly i.e. GMT+10 for Melbourne, Australia.
If you find any problems then please send us a screenshot of the same at support@wiziq.com so that we can check this further.

Thanks,
Preeti

Wiz IQ is not updating the Timezones with Daylight Savings time. I am currenlty in Mountain Daylight Time (MTD), which is the equivalent to GMT-6. Wiz IQ currenlty has GMT-6 listed as Central Standard Time, which is incorrect. Thus, my profile states that I am in Central Standard Time, when I am in fact, in Mountain Daylight Time. The labels Wiz IQ is using for the timezones are no longer correct to coordinate with Daylight Savings time.

See this web link to know I am not crazy about MDT equivalent to GMT-6.

Tracy the time zone at www.wiziq.com automatically adjusts according to day light saving time. The MST may show GMT -7:00 while you are selecting it as your time zone, the actual time during these days is GMT -6:00.

Please check if you are getting wrong time while scheduling classes when you have selected MST as your time zone.

To clarify, I am using the Wiz IQ plug-in module in my Moodle classroom. I have my Moodle classroom set to UTC-6, which is the equivalent to Mountain Daylight Time (MDT). When I schedule a Live Wiz IQ class as a Moodle plug-in, the Wiz IQ site then schedules the class for MST. There is no option in Wiz IQ to select MDT as a timezone, thus any class I schedule through Moodle is always listed as one hour earlier on the Wiz IQ website.

So, yes, I am getting the wrong time while scheduling a class.

For example, I scheduled a LIve Wiz IQ class through my Moodle platform for Monday, July 19th at 10am MDT or UTC-6. When I click on the link within Moodle, it takes students to the Wiz IQ classroom page, and this has the class time listed as 9am MST. This is correct, but it is incredibly confusing to both teachers and students when the Moodle site states we are operating on MDT and then Wiz IQ states class times are listed in MST.
What I am requesting is the option to select MDT as a timezone option in Wiz IQ so my Moodle site and my Wiz IQ timezones can match.

Thank you for your prompt attention to this. I appreciate the assistance. It appears that this has been an issue for others as well (see Janet's post below), so an update to Wiz IQ would be much appreciated.

Thanks agani,
Tracy
