This feature is in our pipe-line. We are currently working on this.
However, at present we can not give you a date for the same.
When this feature is enabled, we will let you know.

Thanks,
Preeti

Any plans in the future to make WiZiQ more Mobile Friendly, as in iPhone friendly?

Benjamin,

For a seamless user experience on mobile devices, we will need to create an app for WiZiQ. Since our platform needs Flash technology, we are dependent on Adobe to bring Flash technology to mobile devices. Although there is a "Flash Lite" platform that Adobe has for mobile phones, it is not as feature rich as we need. Luckily, they are coming out with a new version of Flash for mobile devices with their release of Flash 10.1 player, which will help application developers like us to develop apps for mobiles. This should happen in the first half of 2010. And once Flash 10.1 is out there, we can create the WiZiQ mobile app especially for Android devices. We are yet to see how we can create and app for iPhone though.

We are targeting about a year from now that we should have a mobile app for WiZiQ. Also, if you could tell us what all you would like to see in the mobile app, it will help us quite a bit.

Regards,
Harman

Thanks Harman. It all sounds exciting as I think getting WiZiQ mobile up-and-running will bring teaching and learning to a new level for sure. As far as mobile functionality goes I would prioritize as follows:

1. capture audio from live and recorded classes
2. view live and recorded classes (with icon to indicate participant is mobile during live classes)
2. text chat during live classes
3. audio/video chat during live classes

As far as the mobile app goes, I would try to respect your current home page as much as possible: Live Now, Upcoming Classes, and Recording main tabs. Then higher tabs including teach, learn, etc., again as they appear in the home page. Then I would create a series of drop down menus that includes less frequent links, but not duplicating links as you do currently in the home page.

One last thing...you say, "We are yet to see how we can create and app for iPhone though" Do you mean that regardless, there are no plans for an iPhone app, even with the updated Flash? If so, that's a shame since I can navigate quite well with my iPhone throughout the entire WiZiQ page except when Flash is required.

Would love to be able to join my classea remotely from my iPhone. At least have the ability to hear audio and chat to send questions...

Any idea? Flash has a way to export to iPhone apps, it may be more doable these days.

Thank you!

I don't think classes by iPhone will be sufficient. There just isn't enough screen space to see content. Perhaps the focus could be more on listening and speaking.

However, the iPad and other devices like the Samsung Galaxy TAB have a better potential of representing WiZiQ as a full text, video, and voice enabled classroom.

That's for iPad, but is it also compatible for iPhone?
