Have taught a wide range of students: from young adolescents to elderly adults, often in the same classroom. I developed the curriculum and materials for a non-linear editing course used at CAN TV the past 3 years (Adobe Premiere).

Field Production

Some of our work was displayed at the Museum of Contemporary Art in New York. Many of the students were either gang members or affiliated with local gangs, and contributed fully as true collaborators.

Continuing work on a long-term project treating the culture and people of eastern Turkey. Project is entering the post-production phase.

Shot the A-Roll material for La Primavera del Inmigrante (The Spring of the Immigrant), and co-edited. Two videos were produced to look at the two mass marches held in Chicago in support of immigration reform, to comprise a feature-length DVD (available for purchase).

Visiting director for studio productions of El Rostro En La Ventana (The Face in the Window), an itinerant program focusing on issues of immigration and Latin American culture, produced by Alexy J. Lanza.

Directed principal photography of a documentary centering on a delegation of human rights observers visiting Honduras during the recent coup d'etat. The documentary team consisted of two other videographers and a staff photographer. While the feature-length work is still in-progress, I have edited a 10-minute treatment of the experiences of the delegation. "Honduras: Which Way?", posted on YouTube under the name "Optikaman".

Produced a feature-length piece called "El Guateque" (The Feast) on the outskirts of Santiago de Cuba, shot in 16:9 optical anamorphic, 24p. Treats a gathering of local Cubans celebrating the homecoming of a native son, and the 50th anniversary of the Cuban revolution. A planned update will include rare interviews with underground revolutionaries of the Eastern Front.

DOP for "Love and Other Blood Sports", a feature film by Cindy Elzy. Shot in 24p with optical anamorphic, mostly interiors. Release tba.

Was a delegate on the 10th Caravan of Solidarity and Peace to Cuba.
