About Jan Cambrensis

I started my teaching career in UK as a P.E. teacher in a UK secondary school. I loved it but I knew that I wanted to teach English as a Foreign Language as well. So after some years, I retrained and have since taught English Language in UK, France, Brunei and currently, in the United Arab Emirates.I have taught English to students of all ages ranging from 5 year olds to senior citizens; I have given 1:1 face to face classes as well as classes on the telephone when that was unheard of! My students have included 5 year olds, Junior and Secondary school students as well as undergraduate and postgraduate university students. I have taught ESP for nurses and surgical instrument suppliers among others and I've helped PhD candidates perfect their academic writing too. Teaching English is my passion - I'm pleased to say that even after many years of working in this field, I still look forward to every class that I teach.

I became a racing sailor for a year, unpaid for most of that time! This was the adventure of a lifetime and a chance for ordinary people (like me) to do something extraordinary.

I include this in my professional experience as it drew on my inner strengths, helped me to know myself better and in many ways it has helped to motivate my students too with the 'I can' factor!

It is wonderful to hear that you still look forward to teach.Could you please give me your notes on teaching english.
