My name is Elizabeth Hansen-Clay. I graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Stout with a Masters Degree in Education and a Graduate Certificate in E-Learning and Online Teaching. For my Internship I co-facilitated the class Teaching and Assessing Writing with the 6-Traits at the University of Wisconsin-Stout Graduate School. I also graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee with a Bachelors Degree in Education and the University of Wisconsin-Marathon County with an Associates Degree. I have a Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction Teaching License. I am a member of the Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) International Association. I am married and live in Wisconsin, USA.

Get Motivated
My Philosophy of Online Teaching is derived from the belief that students who take classes online must be very self-motivated to succeed. I hope to share a love of learning with my students. It is this motivation that I treasure and nurture.
Practice Self Reflection
I believe in the power of self reflection to explain what we have learned and apply it to future situations. I use best practices in online teaching. I must serve as a role model to my students. I believe every student has the power to succeed. My students will have a chance to build community. This allows them to think critically and build teamwork skills. I will encourage my online students and help them to succeed, each in their own individual way.
Feel Empowered by Education
With knowledge, new doors open. Through education students are empowered. This impacts them, their families and their communities. When you are set free in the online world, educational possibilities open up to you that you would not have otherwise. As an online instructor I will be my student's Guide on the Side as they collaborate, problem solve and engage in critical thinking. My classes will accommodate a variety of learning styles and encourage independent thinking in a safe environment.
