Brief teaching history: After high school I went to culinary arts school with full scholarships and grants and graduated with a 3.9 GPA in hospitality management (1998). I then graduated from a small private college with a BA in English literature (2003). During undergraduate school I played the saxophone as my minor. In 2009 I received the master's in education (curriculum and instruction) from University of Phoenix, one of the largest online universities in the world, graduating with a 3.9 GPA. This was a very intense experience for me from which I gained immense respect for online learning. I have been involved in educational surroundings since 2001, beginning with tutoring primary school English language learners. I have experience as a substitute teacher, public school bus driver, public school English teacher, coordinator and liaison of a small charter school, developmental coordinator of curriculum, segment manager of educational design, research developer, and full time university instructor. I have intense belief that musical elements, when used effectively, can improve foreign language skills. Most of my research and curriculum development centers around building a solid language enhancement course that uses musical elements to improve speaking and listening skills.
