Application of Data Mining in Customer Relationship Management (CRM)

This paper presents the application of data mining for building models that help companies in effective CRM process. Data mining is deeply being used in CRM implementation. For any organization to earn profit, it is necessary to understand its customers. Understanding and responding to customers needs
and improving customer service have become important element of corporate
strategy. CRM has gained momentum in recent years. Majority of data mining
tools and techniques are employed to solve customer’s needs and to manage
customers to optimize long-term value.
The focus of this paper is on applying data mining in customer life-cycle by building suitable models. How data mining can be applied in customer lifecycle,
to turn customers into profit, is suggested. Various threats and
opportunities in CRM are also discussed. Finally, the paper is concluded with specifying scope of the study and further prospects in application of data mining in CRM.
