Imam John Starling, an American convert and graduate of the Islamic University of Madinah was born and raised in North Carolina. After graduating from NCSU’s College of Management with a B.S. in Business Management, Imam John went on to further his education at the Islamic University of Madinah. At the Islamic University he received an Associates Degree in the Arabic Language & Islamic Studies and immediately thereafter was enrolled in the University’s College of Islamic Theology and Mission. Since his graduation, John has become active inviting to Islam in America; teaching, preaching and publishing various works, both written and audio.
In the past he has done extensive work as a translator for several Islamic publishing companies, worked as an instructor and curriculum developer at the Foundation for Knowledge and Development, the largest Arabic and Islamic studies institute in New York, is a founder and teacher of Al-Hikmah Institute, and now lives in Cherry Hill where he serves as the full-time Imam and Director of the GCLEA, South Jersey’s largest Islamic Center.
