According to the American Association of Professional Coders, Certified medical coders experienced a 1.5 increase in wages between 2009 and 2010, whereas coders without certification experienced a 1.2 increase. Hence, one benefit of becoming a certified medical coder is financial. In addition, certification also opens the door for medical coders to pursue more challenging positions.

This Course is for licensed clinical personnel i.e. Registered Nurses and Physicians only!

This course is ideal for Registered Nurses and Physicians in the US, Philippines, India and other countries who would like to become Certified RN-Coders. About course instructor:

Joyce Tolliver Thomas holds 20+ years experience in all phases of health care payment policies, reimbursement management, and audit functions. She is an experienced Health Care Compliance, Coding and Reimbursement Executive with proven expertise in developing and implementing coding training for clinical and non-clinical personnel; did innovative Web-based training in coding and compliance; and conducted various types of coding, fraud and abuse, and charged recovery audits.

Qualifications:

• 1982 Bachelor of Arts Degree from San Diego State University, San Diego, California
• 1979 MO Diploma Program from Research School of Nursing, Kansas City
