This course can be used by students who already hold nursing or allied health degrees in their countries and are preparing to take certification examinations in the United States of America!
This course will help you understand the language, study skills and cultural specific to US medical studies.
Introduction:
Anatomy and Physiology for English Language Learners is an introductory course to Anatomy and Physiology. The purpose of this course is to present content for sciences and language skills which are necessary for success in academic science courses such as Anatomy, Physiology and Human Biology.
This course is designed for students who are at high-intermediate level of English. It will prepare English language learners for success in future nursing and allied health prerequisite courses.

- Study Skills – creating good study habits, studying with diagrams, active reading, using reference sources, concept maps, summarizing information, categorizing information and then putting it all together
- Cultural Focus – preparing for the future, the use of touch to comfort, informality in forms of address, alternative healing, folk medicine, making progress in health care, direct communication, spiritual forces in healing, the economy of health care, hierarchy of age and gender, confidentiality and privacy, discussing the reproductive system with patients
