The Android platform is poised to take the mobile market by storm. A big reason is portability: you can use Android to build apps that work across multiple devices.
In this course, you will learn how to build mobile applications for the exciting new Android platform. Course will immerse students in the Android platform, leveraging their existing Java expertise, and allowing them to walk away from the class ready to build Android GUIs and related components. On the first class, you will write your first Android Activities. Through the rest of the course you will be progressively introduced to more and more of what Android has to offer – services, multitouch, and system search services. You will apply this knowledge with working code every step of the way.
Be ready to work hard and learn a lot in this intensive, hands-on, introduction to programming with the Android platform. Following along with instructor as you will build a simple Android app from start to finish with the Android SDK and the Eclipse IDE. No experience is necessary. Android is a software platform for mobile devices. It's powered by a Linux kernel. Android was initially developed by Google and later by the Open Handset Alliance. Simply learning how to create apps will not give you the competitive edge in this growing sector. You also need to learn the tips and tricks in giving the perfect shape to your creative thinking.

Thomas holds a Master’s Degree from University of Connecticut and a Bachelors degree from University of California, Berkeley. He also holds a Business Certificate from Columbia University.
