JavaServer Faces simplifies the integration of web-based user interfaces for Java developers by establishing a standard for building server-side user interfaces. Developed through the Java Community Process under JSR - 314 expert group (of which several tool vendors were members), the JavaServer Faces APIs make web application development even easier. The widespread involvement and commitment of these vendors will help the adoption of the JavaServer Faces or JSP technology standard.
There are two key components of JavaServer Faces technology are an API for representing UI components (handling events, server-side validation, and data conversion; defining page navigation; supporting internationalization and accessibility) and managing their state and two JavaServer Pages (JSP) custom tag libraries for expressing UI components within a JSP page and for wiring components to server-side objects. JSF programming model and tag libraries significantly ease the burden of building and maintaining web applications with server-side UIs. You can easily wire client-generated events to server-side application code, bind UI components on a page to server-side data, construct a UI with reusable and extensible components, save and restore UI state beyond the life of server requests, and more.
This is an advanced course and would be conducted using a practicals oriented approach. Every concept would be explained through simulations, exercises and practical files making it interactive and fun to learn. You will also retain what you learn by being able to relate it to an activity. To deepen your understanding, skill assignments will help you assess your learning and understanding that would help you clear all your concepts.
